Valerie Lovegreen 1923 to 2007

It is with regret that I have to tell you that my wife Valerie died in her sleep in the early hours of Sunday April 15th during a short stay in hospital at the end of six years of coping with Alzheimer's disease. Right to the end Valerie was in very good spirits and as always was good fun to be with. The day before we had celebrated our 62nd wedding anniversary. Caring for Valerie was my special interest and I am exceedingly glad that she was able to stay at home except for the last few days.

This last fortnight e-Orchards have been reorganising our web pages to make getting about them easier so you should already have benefitted from the new contents list. We have also changed the wording of our Home page as you may have noticed. This has been done to make searches by Google and Yahoo easier for them and to get our web pages seen by more people. Off screen the major activity has been to ensure that the West Coast members of the Scottish Parliament are aware of our thinking, but most important must be our efforts to get these ideas put before the boards of our major power producing companies. This is work has to be done very carefully and that often means slowly but two letters have gone and one encouraging reply received so far. Last week I was invited to send an objection to the proposed wind farm at Dalmellington, Ayrshire. I have suggested that as ordinary wind turbines on towers are likely to be obsolete soon that considering putting more of them up is a waste of time. Councillors are invited to read these pages
